Watching Technology Develop
I like to keep a look out to see what is happening in technology, with a particular emphasis on developments in mobile tech (smartphones, tablets and laptops) and especially anything related to Apple’s iOS and OS X platforms, although recently I have taken the plunge into the world of Android with an HTC One – beautifully constructed handset!
I love technology, in particular most things computer related and if it is Internet connected and nicely made, well that’s just perfect! As you can see from the About page I have in the past studied to become an application developer and even published an app on the iTunes Store. This does not make me a developer, far from itl. But what it does mean is that I have some appreciation of the work that goes into making an app.
My aim with this website is twofold; on the one hand I try to pass on any tips, tricks and resources I have found useful myself and on the other I write about the technology that interests me, both hardware and software. Nearly everything I write about I have purchased with my own money and used personally. Where possible I try to use everything, whether it is a game or a task app, a laptop or an iPad for a reasonable period of time before writing about it. That way I get to properly use and evaluate the product rather than going on an instinctive gut feel after only a few minutes or hours.
Having owned and used just about every Apple product over the last few years, from the original iPhone, the first iPad, a flat screen iMac, MacBooks, Magic Mouse, Touch Pad and many others, I feel I am at least partially qualified to have an opinion on these.
In addition to Apple products, I feel it is important to have a perspective on other (often competing) technology, so I have also purchased and used (still use in some cases) Android and Windows technology. For instance, you would find it hard to part me from my Kindle, the PaperWhite is my current model.
Anyway, I hope you like my take on the stuff I ocassionally blog about. Please feel free to leave an opinion, either directly in Comments or using the Contact page. Good or bad any opinion is appreciated.
